Beeswax Candles
All our decorative and coloured candles are handmade using 100% Australian beeswax and a cotton braided wick. Unscented by design, they're built to sit naturally in any home, a considered pop of colour with a warm, clear light when burning.
Beeswax: We use 100% Australian beeswax, sourced from an apiary in regional Victoria. As no additives are used, a white film may form on the surface over time, this is known as "blooming." This is a natural part of pure beeswax and doesn't affect the burn. If you'd prefer the look without it, wipe gently with a damp cloth, or apply low heat with a hairdryer. It will return over time, as it's part of the wax's natural behaviour.
Why beeswax? These candles are made in a detailed mould, which requires a denser wax to hold its shape. Many candlemakers use soy for this style, but pure soy is too soft to work and most "soy" beeswax-style candles are actually blended with paraffin or other additives. Ours are not.
Colour Dyes: Coloured using candle-safe dyes. Our "Honey" shade is left undyed, showing the beeswax's natural colour. Each colour is named after a fruit or vegetable. We aim for consistency batch to batch, though slight variation is natural — it depends on the flowering season and the bees themselves.
Best tip: Keep away from direct sunlight, as colour may fade over time.
